Reflection

Another day for you to wonder, another day for you to mourn
It wasn't my intention to go before the coming dawn
My pain was deep within my heart and troubled head
It wasn't my intention to go without words said.

My frame of mind seemed normal, or so I heard them say
It wasn't my intention not to see another day
I did not mean to make you suffer or cause you so much pain

Despair and confusion left my aching mind unsure
It wasn't my intention to suddenly close life's door
If only I could give you reasons and brush the tears away

My daughter Joanna was a bright, bubbly, intelligent, young woman with a great sense of humour, she was caring and kind and generous to a fault. She hung herself at our home on 14 October 2007. She had taken several overdoses during the last 2 years and as she only did this when she'd been drinking, she was told she wasn't depressed she should just stop drinking. I informed hospital staff that I thought she had an underlying mental health problem and even though I lived with her and knew her better than anyone they felt they knew best! Why didn't they listen? ......... We love and miss her so much, our hearts are broken.xx

For all of those who grieve

Whoever told you suicides don't go to heaven were wrong, it was insensitive too. My thoughts are with you, don't be too hard on yourself, keep going, you will see Danniel again, it does hurt and the impact stays with you all your life, just remember all those smiles and memories you shared with him.
